Where y'all from?
« on: April 26, 2017, 07:21:47 pm »
Hey All,

Good to see MV-Nation is back, respect to those of you that resurrected it as much as you could...

Just wondering where in the world everyone is from? I am based in the flatlands of Eastern England, but originally from Scotland....

France, Brittany western part of it. right under the rainy ass of my beloved Britannic neighbours. The Channel and south influences does protect us a little though.  :)

Now in Cambridge. Used to live in Woodbridge.

Seems I like bridges! :)

Looking to buy another MV if you're ever selling! ;)

I spent a couple of years in the Woodbridge area, got a few mates that way, nice part of the world.. interesting things have been known to go on in the woods beyond  ;)

What sort of music are you making?

Never even seen s Drumbrute in the flesh, let alone seen one for sale. But will let you know. :)

I'm mostly using my MV for sequencing external stuff (Q+, Integra, etc). The ease of editing MIDI data is what drew me to . But I've reecntly started to get my head around sampling - sort of like a bonus. I'm discovering that loading up a sample patch and then finding an interesting line/riff from the pads is easier than doing the same on a keyboard. I think that writing a melody on pads means I don't rely on my (poor) keyboard skills and cliches.

I found a Tom Waits-ish wandering bassline a couple of weeks ago that really isn't my style, but I can't shake it. Got to do something with it! Don't think I'm a typical MVer! :)

Ha "a typical MVer".. neither am I.. i think the MV has had an unfair stereotyping.. sure its great for Hiphop, but it can do so much more... and most people haven't even heard of it...

Love a bit of Tom Waits
