Hard drive can be whatever you can find as the largest drive. Memory wise, 512 mb.

Received my new Transcend SSD, a new 512 Dimm and waiting for a Noctua NF-A8 ULN to arrive.
Will order that sheet the for the silicone 'corks' mod next. After that I am gonna spent a nice rainy day to do all the mods.

If you never hear of me again after, I might have wrecked my MV  ;D

I used one these...

..from ebay  (Search for "SDcard 44pin IDE Adapter")

and one of these....

It works nicely with mv8800.  Currently it is hanging out the bottom.  My next job is to cut a hole and mount the extender next to the cd burner.

I tried it without success.
But it could have been the fault of the card and not the adaptor.
Which card did you use ?

Did the easy mods for the Transcend SSD, a new 512 Dimm and a Noctua NF-A8 ULN.

SSD was easy, but I messed up the Fan ULN adapter (wrong power wire and me being stupid), but finally got it working. Even without the ULN adapter it is dead silent so I am happy.

My previous 512 dimm resulted in weird noise bursts on samples if I loaded over a few MB's of samples - this is a known problem for some MV users. After replacing it with the new memory the issue is gone, so I can confirm it is because of faulty ram.

Will do the pad sensitivity mod next, just waiting for some silicone sheets to arrive.

In the meanwhile I am trying to port a NI Vintage Organ patch because I need that bubble sound  ;D

I'm currently using a Sandisk ultra 64gb.  I've tried a few different ones with no issuez.

I've found they should be formatted in the machine.  Windows 10 exFat and ntfs formats won't work.  Also if you have a drive without a PROJECTS directory the mv won't be able to save a project.
