Did you turn off HD format protection before trying to format the hard drive ?

Mvstudio, yes I did... I also tried with a micro sd adator without any success too.

Zheino worked great for me... but dont expect a huge speed increase! ide is still the limit

Just bought a Transcend, will let you know how that worked out. (still running the original HDD right now).

works perfectly and is totally silent
