Upload not working

I tried to upload a nice MV Patch to share but I got the message 'The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.'

Maybe something in the hosting settings ?

Could it be the max upload is very lo ? (I got '413 Request Entity Too Large' when uploading a file of 11 Meg) ?

Little upload test with very small file

edit: This worked, but a file of about 5 MB also failed.

yeah, i have increased the max upload size to 12MB.
