Thanks fam! That's sort of what I'm going for these days. A mix of lofi house and techno. I am a nineties boy in my 40s now so my dated sound is, I feel, somewhat authentic!  ;D

Made this track with a MV, a SP16, and a future retro revolution. Recorded to my multitrack for a rough mix then through some lofi outboard and onto cassette then back into the MV. Finished it up with the mastering toolkit.

Did this on the MV. Tracked out to my recorder so I could over dub vocals and mix. Two tracked back to the MV so I could master it there

Just a heads up, there were complaints recently again on one of the Facebook groups that people who wanted to join mv nation site could not register.

There are more folks who want to join the community here but are unable too. I mentioned I'd let someone here know.

Is it perhaps related to the sequence length/settings? I work in song mode so correct me if I'm wrong. I think you can set the pattern length and the looping mode separately. If you move the data outside the sequence length area perhaps it's not being saved? Loop length refers to the looper itself which can be used at any point in the sequence. Pattern length sets the measures which will be considered the pattern.

A note for whoever needs to deal with this, there have been a couple people on the MV Facebook group who have been unable to join/register to this site. When they attempt to register the site says it is currently unavailable.

Yes you can. Refer to the first post in the thread for the "pad level routing" this will work with any pad in any patch. Just select the pad and then hit quick edit. You then assign the output there.

I may be submitting this track for a compilation so I went back for a touch up on the mix to tighten up the bottom end. Of course that meant I had to reupload the video with the new mix and the old one had to be deleted(along with any comments and views). Oh well here it is for anyone interested or for future visitors

Can someone clarify, can you just drag and drop these in or do you still have to import them to the drive afterwords? I've only loaded a couple samples before and feel like it was a weird process from what I can recall like drag them in to a certain folder and then import them to the patch area of the drive?

I was hoping it may be easier with them being .mvo files.

As always, any info is appreciated

I rewatched this over the weekend and,the part you are referring to is towards the end of the video. From what I gather Mike was saying the outs at the converter stage of the MPC had a bump in a certain frequency to begin with that would kick the drums up a notch.

The MFX each have different effect blocks within them. There are 6 that have the 3 band EQ block in them the Center Canceller, St. DYnamics Processor, Reveb & Gate, Stereo Distortion, Vocal Multi, and Voice Transformer. Presumably, you could use any of these by just shutting off the other effect blocks and just using the EQ.

In this case I would recommend the St. Dynamics Processor because it includes a comp/limiter, enhancer, 3band EQ and noise suppressor.

I have a MV8800 which did not have any issues with the screen until I put it into storage for a few months. When I brought it back out it was really washed out and faded to the point of being unusable. It is not a contrast issue as the adjustment knob still makes it brighter or darker but no more legible.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Does anyone know of a fix or place to start looking to troubleshoot?

I still get by with the VGA output but sometimes I just want to use the MV standalone so I'd like to fix it. Hoping I don't have to end up trying to source one from Roland.

Moral of the story, don't leave your MV in storage for any amount of time!

Anyone else find that while adding samples when layering in the SMT that the new loaded sample loops? I then have to go in the sample edit and change its value to one shot from forward. It's not a super big issue as I've always just worked around it but I have wondered why it does this.
