@ Manalishi - wow that's some setup, I am guessing music is your day job?

I have been rather sidetracked recently by new additions to the studio so the MV has taken a back seat for a while.. was looking for the drum machine with "that" sound, so, I bought an Octatrack (ok, its a sampler, not strictly a drum machine....), it did'nt have "that" sound though.... so, I picked up a Sonic Potions LXR, a mad little device, FM drum synth with balls... but it didn't quite have "that" sound............... so, now an MFB Tanzbar has arrived....................... I FOUND "THAT" SOUND :-)

Yep working fine here too.

Does anyone else have one of these?.. just got mine a couple of days ago, I think its gonna be a keeper, but I have had quite a few hardware samplers and sequencer grooveboxes over the years, and yet the learning curve on this one still looks mighty steep, despite all my previous experience (not that i am an expert...)

Ha "a typical MVer".. neither am I.. i think the MV has had an unfair stereotyping.. sure its great for Hiphop, but it can do so much more... and most people haven't even heard of it...

Love a bit of Tom Waits

I spent a couple of years in the Woodbridge area, got a few mates that way, nice part of the world.. interesting things have been known to go on in the woods beyond  ;)

What sort of music are you making?

Another East of Englander here. Relative newbie to the MV.

Cool Cool, whereabouts buddy? I am in the sticks halfway between Nozza and Ipswich...

Update - I just read on roland clan about an old problem that conecthink had.. now i think my freeze up was due to the same... I had midi going into Novation BS2 and back out to the MV just like he did on his post (also BS2) both suffered lock ups.. I usually use a separate midi controller keyboard.......

I will post the details of the card adaptor etc over the weekend if anyone is interested... and maybe even a pic of my highly technical mounting system  ::)

I just plugged the 40gb hdd into a usb caddy and copied all contents to a folder on my desktop.. put the cf card and adaptor card in the mv to format (i heard it was standard FAT32, but thought that an MV format procedure would be most agreeable to the system..) then whipped the cf card out of the adaptor and into a usb card reader and transfered the files across

Hi all

I have just finished replacing the mechanical hdd for a bootable cf card adaptor and sandisk 64gb card.. copied all the contents of the old hdd ... The MV is now back up and running but i have noticed a couple of issues.. somehow a folder marked "samples" didnt get copied over, not a big problem, but cant figure out why. Mostly i have noticed a modest increase in speed, but it hasnt exactly transformed the old girl...

The biggest worry is that during the first studio session while i was groovin around the studio  ::), messing with some different swing template settings on different drum tracks, the MV froze.. the loop kept on playing, the mouse would move around the screen, the sliders faded tracks, but i could not stop play, save, play pads etc etc, most of it was unresponsive, and i ended up having to switch off at the back and reboot, losing the project... Has this happened to anyone else?, as in 4ish years of intermittent use I have never had it freeze before..

I modified an obsolete office chair to hold my mv... pretty happy with that

I just saw an office chair in a skip at work, have thought of that idea before but thanks for the reminder, think I will try that...

Yeah, and you can't even see half of the stuff in my photo... about 10 synths... maybe 6 drum units / samplers... the same with guitars... amps.... speakers...fx ..... I have an eBay problem!.....
