MIDI feedback
« on: April 26, 2021, 06:59:31 pm »
I'm having some problems with MIDI feedback on the MV8000.
I have the MV8000, reface DX, ASR10, Kordbot, OP1 and JX8P all connected via a motu timepeice midi patchbay.
The problem is that when entering midi into the MV from the Korbot, I get midi feedback.

The obvious place to fix this is in the timepiece midi patchbay. It's a very sophisticated unit with lots of filtering and connectivity options. But i seem to be chasing my tail and not able to fix my problem no matter what I do on the timepiece.
So, I was wondering, does anyone know of any settings on the MV that might help getting rid of midi feedback?

I read somewhere about this because I haven’t heard of it before. On Yamaha’s website they advise to turn off local control on midi in utilities for their MOD X. Maybe try turning off local control on whatever you have there that isn’t needing to produce sound.

I would try putting the MV in multi timbre mode in midi settings and if that doesn’t work, play with sync settings in the sync menu.
